May 2006 UHF Contest
Wet weather provided some rainscatter contacts but no tropo, however aircraft scatter provided good results. The 70cm QSO with SK7MW went very quickly with steady signals, whereas OK4W took some time to get a good enough peak to complete. However there was no sign of SK7MW on 23cm, where DM7A, OK4W (JO60), DF0YY (JO62), DL0GTH(JO50), DK6AS (JO52), F8KOP/P (JN06) and DK8SG (JN48) provided some good long distance contacts. 13cm was the real surprise, with excellent DX with DM7A, DF0YY, DK6AS, and DL0GTH. Unusually G8AIM (IO92) was worked by rainscatter on this band on a heading 20 degrees off true. GM4ISM/P provided a new square on 9cm by aircraft scatter. On 6cm and 3cm results were fairly average with no unusual DX. Some UK Signals were very loud on rainscatter on Saturday evening. Results are summarised in the table below:
