October 2003 UHF Contest
Conditions were normal for this contest, with no great DX. Activity seemed quite good on the lower microwave bands, but not so good on 6 and 3cm as last year.
There was a little rainscatter on Saturday evening, which helped lift signals on 6/3cm from stations in PA, but it was not high enough to give longer distance QSOs.
Once again activity in the UK seemed very low.
DL0GTH was the best on 432 and 1296MHz. SK7MW was heard on 70cm but too weak to work in the QRM.
2.3GHz benefitted from a new solid state PA with an MRF21120, giving a useful boost to output power, resulting in my best ever number of QSOs on 13cm in a contest, with DF0OL just beating DL3YEE as best DX. Best DX on the higher bands were (as usual) DL3YEE on 3.4GHz, and DK2MN on 5.7/10GHz.
