WELLINGTON EMERGENCY NET MONDAY @ 7:30 PM ... WRC's 5th Anniversary Celebration in Wellington was great ... OUR TOWERING TIMES ... 147.285 REPEATER REPAIRS ****************************************************************************** ************** Hi Folks ... The WRC's 5th Anniversary Celebration in Wellington was great ... our operation under the leadership of Jack KG4FKY successfully reunited two lost children with their parents and provided minor first aid to another child (before EMS came on duty). The PBSO detail Sgt. and this area's Lt. were grateful for our communications backup and creating the easy-to-find focal point for lost children. During the eight hour project, eleven WRC members attended along with three of their youths! Way to go WRC. Special thanks to Alisha, Jack's daughter, for putting together a lost child kit of teddy bears, crayons and toys! It was really thoughtful and creative. Fred N0RBR arrived early and stayed late and helping us to overcome one minor problem after another ... thanks Fred. OUR TOWERING TIMES - REQUESTS COME FROM ALL OVER THE US AND EUROPE The first issue seems to have been pretty well accepted judging the number of requests that have come in and email feedback received. I am working on a number of articles for the April edition but still need your inputs ... help me out guys. Robb KS4EC is working on a new WELLINGTON RADIO CLUB-K4WRC website and ways of electronically distributing OUR TOWERING TIMES. IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR MARCH COPY, PLEASE EMAIL ME. 147.285 REPEATER REPAIRS Performance of the repeater should be as good as ever. Today Carl W1CHS and I removed copper shavings/chips from inside the repeater!!! They were left behind by a careless electrician working at the tower site (sure wish Phil KE4PWE or Rich KE4HVT were there instead)! Besides restoring power output to normal levels, receiver sensitivity was checked and minor adjustments were made to frequency, deviation and squelch settings. C U on the Net ... 73 Larry KS4NB
