My handle is Steven. I have played
with electronics and radios most of my life. I had a CB radio back
when the airwaves were clean, if anyone can remember that. I
worked in Communications for a while and worked on commercial
radio, telephone, microwave, and security systems. Radio work was
mostly Motorola Smartnet Trunked Systems and Equipment. I received
a Radio/Telephone General Operators License (GROL) in 1992. I got
my ticket as a Ham Technician in 1996. I couldn't get serious,
trying to learn morse code and
didn't upgrade to General until 2013 after the morse code
requirement was dropped. I changed my original call from KC5WEJ to
the vanity call K5SGD.
I finally did my Extra Class in 2015.
