Dating back to 1960 a few good amateur radio operators became close friends as a result of their hobby, meeting socially to talk ham radio. It was natural that the subject of organization would evolve, thus the start of OH-KY-IN VHF Society (now OH-KY-IN Amateur Radio Society) and it grew slowly at first to a very large highly effective club offering services to any and all community or emergency needs. To this date OH-KY-IN comprising of all classes and walks of life offers the most diversity of services to and is highly respected by all authorities throughout the Tri-State. The club supports several repeaters on VHF as well as one on UHF. We support DXing, field day, contesting on all bands, teach and test for all classes of amateur radio licenses, mount annual DXpeditions and are a ARRL Special Service Club. Click on the button in the left frame called History for a more detailed history of the club compiled by Howard, WB8QOH. We also publish a fine monthly journal called the Q-Fiver details of which can also be seen futher down this page.
