Chris, KD4RTR, maintains three repeaters in east Kentucky. He has gotten a whole lot more
gray hair and a whole lot less money since he has taken up this hobby. We all appreciate
the time and effort spent on these machines of his.
442.150 is the " big-dawg" of his machines. Located on Flatwoods mountain, this repeater is at 2800 feet AMSL and over 1300 feet HAAT! No doubt this UHF machine provides a larger coverage area for UHF than any other machine in the state of Kentucky.
443.425 is the " voice " machine. This repeater is totally solar-powered. Controlled by a CAT-1000 controller with a Doug Hall remote base interface, linking is provided. Also on this system is a CAT DVR for messages and audio testing. It is linked full-time to the 442.150 machine.
146.745 is the newest addition to Chris's "toys".  It gives that little extra kick that is needed when UHF just won't cut it.
