| I met my husband, Yoon, when I was working at the KARL (Korean Amateur Radio League). He was the recipient of the second individual ham radio station in Korea with a call sign, HM1AB. We came to US and got married in Harvard, MA in 1967. In 1970, we got ham licenses under the Goldwater bill, which allowed green card holders to receive US licenses. My call was WN4FYN (novice) and Yoon’s was WB4QFX (advanced). |
We operated from Columbia, SC; Pittsburgh, PA; Boston, MA; Ashburn, VA before retiring to Orlando, FL. My license was upgraded to Technician, then to General and my current call is N1DBY. Fast forward – We have four children, who are all married, and ten grandchildren. Our first daughter, Esther, her husband, Tom and their son (our first grandson), Tobias, are hams with calls, KD2EON, KD2AMD and KD2EOM respectably. Recently Tobias has been upgraded to Extra and we visited to help him to operate digital modes. | Apopka, FL 2015 |
| We are so delighted to have this wonderful hobby is passing along our loved ones. |
