WYLE LIFE SCIENCES -CVPBS

THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION TO YOUR
OXYGEN SYSTEM TESTING REQUIREMENTS

The combination of improved aircraft performance and demanding combat missions requires greater emphasis be placed on the protection of aircrew members. New equipment and procedures must be evaluated and thoroughly tested during the course of their development, which often requires the use of special test equipment. To ensure the most reliable results, WYLE Life Sciences Inc. has developed a new Computerized Variable Profile Breathing Simulator (CVPBS), a portable, microprocessor controlled device which will reproduce pre-configured as well as custom air-flow profiles during heavy workloads and stressful conditions. Information gained by this simulation and testing may be used to quantitatively test and evaluate the dynamic response of aircraft or other oxygen or air systems and subsystems. This apparatus will permit test activities to formulate standard, repeatable test procedures for the testing of oxygen masks, delivery systems, and related equipment by its ability to simulate aircrew breathing extremes encountered during flight. The CVPBS, controlled by a 200 MMX Pentium Computer, a GALIL motion controller board, and the latest version of National Instruments LabView ® software, maintains all the excellent performance specifications of the preceding models, but now features an easier user interface and the ability to create almost any desired breathing profile. The new WYLE CVPBS requires less than 50% of the electronic components used in our older models, thus enhancing the already established excellent reliability of our breathing systems. An optional computer cart can be provided for greater mobility or the system can be used as a desktop computer for convenience. Ideally suited for field use or laboratory testing, the machine case is equipped with wheels and is therefore totally transportable to ease the task of on-site testing of oxygen delivery components by a single technician. In addition, multiple CVPBS units can be connected in a synchronized configuration permitting simultaneous testing of several breathing supply systems or increased loading of a single supply system. Specifically designed for use with military oxygen systems, the CVPBS has proven to be significantly more responsive to the needs of all breathing systems manufacturers. WYLE has produced and/or upgraded a number of these systems for the U.S. Air Force, Navy, U.K. corporations, and private sector aerospace firms in the U.S. and abroad.
