proxnet - exercise the driver at the MAC layer. Useful for troubleshooting connectivity.
proxnet --help
proxnet <ifname> [options]
Proxnet is analogous to Proxim’s site survey and configuration tool, pnetcon.exe. However proxnet is much more limited to date in functionality. You can search for masters, discover MAC addresses or "ping" MAC addresses.
ifname
Exercise RangeLAN2 or Symphony device with interface ifname.
find <seconds>
Sends out one broadcast packet per second for the specified number of seconds. Lists up to 19 responding devices. Devices that are dozing will not respond. This is not the same thing as an ICMP ping and does not require a protocal stack be loaded or configured.
masters <seconds>
Searchs for masters for the specified number of seconds. The number of seconds is rounded off to the nearest multiple of 5. Only searches on the current domain and security ID. HomeRF a-nodes don’t have the concept of masters so this feature doesn’t apply. All devices on the same nwid and in range will sync so use find instead.
ping <MAC address>
Sends out a single directed packet that operates only at the MAC layer. This is not the same thing as an ICMP ping and does not require a protocal stack be loaded or configured.
