The Clarkson University VE Team holds test sessions four times a year, twice in the fall semester and twice in the spring semester.
Test sessions are held at Moore House on the Clarkson University hill campus in Potsdam.
Sessions are on Saturdays, with start time at 9:30 am. Walkins are generally welcome.
Clarkson's Hill Campus is on the west side of the Village of
Potsdam. If you need directions to Potsdam, I'd suggest
mapquest.com.
Once you're in Potsdam, you need to be on US highway 11, again on the west side of the village.
If you can find the Kinney Drugs store, you can find the complex intersection of US 11, NY 345, Maple Street and Clarkson Avenue. You want to head south on Clarkson Avenue... if you are coming from Canton on Route 11, Clarkson Avenue is a right turn at Kinney Drugs.
Head out Clarkson Avenue, and you'll be passing Clarkson's hill campus and the Hamlin-Powers dormitory on your right.
Drive past the entrance to Hamlin-Powers, up the hill and take your NEXT right, at the top of the hill.
You will shortly come to a 3-way stop. Drive straight at this intersection, and Moore House will be the first building on the right. There is a large parking lot in front of Moore House- find a place to park and walk right in the center front doors. Immediately in front of you is the Moore House lounge, and if you're lucky, you'll find the VE Team!
For hams coming to upgrade, talk-in is usually on the K2CC repeater (443.350+ and 146.895-) or the KA2JXI repeater (146.925+) unless there are technical difficulties.
Please bring photo identification to present when asked.
If you are upgrading or claiming credit for a previously held or
current license or certificate of successful completion, please bring
the ORIGINAL license PLUS a photocopy to the session. We need
to see the original and verify its validity, and we need to keep a
copy to forward to ARRL. THERE ARE NO PHOTOCOPY FACILITIES AT
THE EXAM SESSION! Also, please bring exact change- it makes it
easier on us!
