Dear Joe,
I plan to be active on EME from Oct. on. I have had no technical
difficulties, only schedule conflicts. It has been a crazy few months.
Hoever, things are looking better this fall. I am still running about 1200
watts output to four 25el K1FO antennas and about a .3db nf. I have
received my own echoes on good nights easily. If anyone would like to
schedule a QSO with me, I would like them to contact me personally first.
Starting with Oct 5, I should be ok. My only limitation is that I try to
save the Saturday of the dark the moon weekends for Astronomy. Looking
forward to lots of QSO's.

Subject: My first EME QSO
X-Commtouch-Loop: 5
Hello Clyde,
I would like to inform you that on 15 september I made my first EME QSO
on 10 GHz with W6DH. We made a fine QSO with an M report from me to W6DH
and a 559 report back for me.
My working conditions are: using a 3 meter Andrew dish with 50 Watt
output and a nF of about 0.9 dB. I am receiving 1 dB moon noise and
about 13 dB solar noise. My own echo's look quite good and sometimes I
could even copy my own SSB echo.
Now I still have to work on my station because I can't be QRV when it is
raining because the TWT with high voltage supply must be outdoors. I
must work on the TWT and get it installed in a waterproof box.
Furthermore I need to change my antenna tracking so that its working
automaticaly. Now I must read the computer calculations and set it on
the azimuth and elevation readout myself.
I still need a lot of work to be done before I can be realy QRV but I
could make skeds.
I heard also several other stations but due to my lack of CW knowledge I
do not know who these where. I identified WA7CJO with a strong signal
calling CW but was not able to come on because of the heavy rainfall.
Will keep you informed about my progress and must learn CW in this
coming winter period.

Subj: 23cm-EME: QSLs missing
Date: 9/24/01 3:00:27 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
Dear EMEers,
still I, DJ5MN, am waiting for QSLs from the following stations
worked on 23cm EME:
SM6CKU
F2TU
OE9XXI
KB2AH (now K2AH ?)
N2IQU (now N2IQ)
KD5IUV
K5JL
JF3HUC
HB9BHU
DL6LAU
WA9FWD
K5GW
W4AD
WA4NJP
I have worked most of these stations more than a year ago and sent QSL
direct with self addressed envelope and enough return postage. Additionally
I have sent QSL via the bureau. In some cases I also sent a second time direct.
In some cases I also sent a reminder via email. In 2 cases I got QSL
strongly promised by SSB-QSO via the moon. Still I am waiting for
QSLs of the above mentioned stations. I already asked via the EME-
net on 20m or via the netnotes, if these stations have ever received
my QSLs direct or via the bureau WITHOUT ANY REPLY at all.
Gentlemen, how can I get a card for our EME-QSO? Is there
any chance to get one at all. Please let me and other EME-
enthusiasts know if you are interested in QSLs and if you at
least QSL in return.
So far I was able and happy to work 99 initials on 23cm-EME in all
continents with my small 2,95m-dish. Please help me to get all of these
stations confirmed. Can anyone help??
Many thanks in advance!
Best regards and good luck in the ARRL-contest!

K5CBL(Troy) called reports that there was a problem in combining
the solidstate devices on 23cm amp..
W2UHI: nice sunny day.. was on for Stanford test.. equipment all working

for VE6TA.. working on some solid state amps.. starting at
900mhz and will work up.. will keep us informed..
Randy has completed an article for a new variation of the
diagonal feed, and it is now available. It has been sent
to K2UYH & K1RQG.. also e-mail Randy as well..
W6WE: not QRV on 70cm at this time.. looking for info on IC-251A
