Wireless Set 46
The WS 46 is a 6 valve sender/receiver and was intended primarily developed for
communications in beach-assault landings by Combined Operations Command. It was very
strongly built, waterproof and crystal tuned to avoid time consuming tuning when
establishing vital communication in initial stages of landing. Tuning is controlled by any
one of 3 crystals cut to different frequencies, each being brought into operation as
required by a 3 position switch. Two crystals per frequency are required marked R (for
receiver) and S (for sender) respectively. They are no interchangeable.

Wireless Set 62
The WS 62 (which is in fact a WS 22 Mk II) is fully tropicalised and can float itself
without suffering water damage. It was first used by the airborne division in Germany at
the last stages of the second World War.
The WS 62 has better reception performance than the No 22 Set and, due to aluminium
construction, weighs just over half as much. It was intended as a vehicle station but also
used as an animal-pack or man-pack.
