Introduction


EGARC is a small club covering East Gippsland from Maffra in the west to Mallacoota in the East and in general the area south of the Great Dividing Range. We oversee a repeater network with VK3REB 146.900 mhz at Mt Nowa Nowa east of Bairnsdale, VK3REG 146.650 mhz at Mt Cann north of Orbost and VK3REM 147.150 MHZ at Maramingo Hill north of Mallacoota. These 2 metre repeaters are linked using UHF link equipment. VK3RTU 439.525 mhz at Mt Taylor north west of Bairnsdale is now back on air. Signal strength reports would be greatly appreciated. Reports can be made to VK3ZAN on VK3REB or to the Blog page on this website. VK3REM is Now on air and Linked to VK3REG and VK3REB.

Meetings


Club Meetings are mostly held at the Bairnsdale RSL club ( on the corner of Princes Highway and Forge Creek Road opposite the Bairnsdale Hospital ) every 4th Sunday of the month usually in the "Rivers Room" with the first meeting for a New year in January and the last meeting for the year in November.

The AGM is held each July.

The next meeting will be held on Sunday, the 22nd of November at 1330 hours at the Bairnsdale RSL club with a meal being available from the RSL from 1200 hours.

Club Activities & Events

The EGARC is responsible for the maintenance of both 2 metres and 70 cm Repeaters in East Gippsland. VK3REG Mt Cann, VK3REB Mt Nowa Nowa, VK3RTU Mt Taylor (70cm), VK3REM Marimingo Hill Mallacoota.
The Club IRLP node #6008 is now accessable through VK3REB. Access is 24/7. We are in the process of adding more functionality and the codes will be made available on our club website when this process is complete.
The EchoLink node is now attached to to VK3RTU Mt Taylor on 439.525 .
There is a Net each Monday evening at 2000 hours on VK3REB ( 146.900 ) and VK3REM ( 147.150 ) and is open to anyone wishing to check in.
The WIA Broadcast is now heard on VK3REB on Sunday Mornings at 1030 hrs and Wednesday Evenings at 2000 hrs.
These broadcast will be followed by an automated check-in procedure. Please announce your callsign. After 20 seconds these callsigns will be played back.
The EGARC are pleased to announce the re commissioning of VK3REB with a Tait VHF repeater and UHF link equipment as of Saturday afternoon 5th April 2008. The lineup is as follows....(VHF)T375 Rx, T356 Tx, (UHF)T345 UHF Link Rx, T346 UHF Link Tx all controlled by our trusty VTAC Repeater Controller ( which unfortunately does NOT include the female voice announcement previously heard ).

Learning Assessor ( Assessor 3-057) Rex Foord VK3ARG is located at Eagle Point (near Paynesville).
Learning Facilitator ( LF-048 ) Barney Winton VK3XBW is located at Loch Sport.
Examinations can be scheduled to suit the Applicant(s).

Upcoming Courses and Assessments

Exam confirmations are to be made with Bob VK3ZAN. No fees are required for Trial Exams.
