Microsoft JVM
Home Support The Microsoft JVM

Availability of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine

The Microsoft Java Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer is no longer available from Microsoft directly and is no longer supported by Microsoft. Because Meetingworks Connect and Meetingworks InternetEdition both use Java, this action is of concern to some of our customers.  The good news is that there are solutions to ensure our products keep running smoothly.

This action mainly impacts new releases from Microsoft, which will not have the Java VM available as part of that package, so customers must download and install the Microsoft Java VM separately.

Meetingworks strongly recommends that you download and install the Sun JVM as an alternative to the Microsoft Java implementation. We do not expect to maintain support for the Microsoft version in the future. The current Sun JVM from www.java.com

If you must use the Microsoft Java VM it can be downloaded from the following link.

Steps to install the Microsoft Virtual Machine:

  1. Download the file using the link above and save it to your hard drive.
  2. Once the file is on your hard drive, execute it and thus load the Virtual Machine.
  3. As the file begins execution, answer Yes to the License Agreement question and then once complete, re-boot your PC.
  4. Once the PC is re-booted you should be set to go.
