This stand-alone Windows software converts GenLog R1 VHF log files to the EDI format, and is supplied free with GenLog. This application writes a file with most fields filled, requiring only minimal editing - if any.
Normally you write just one EDI file at a time. The output file is named `urCall.log` and is written to the folder where MAKE_EDI resides, which would normally be your GenLog folder. When you click a log file, the station data for that band is displayed. An error message is displayed when the file selected isn`t an R1 VHF Contest log. Each time you write an EDI file, the previous version with the same filename is overwritten.
EDI files for multiple bands:
An EDI file is required for each band (as separate contests) in multi-band events. So use a different GenLog file for each band activated - 144R1_03.log, 432R1_03.log, etc. You can move between bands by just clicking the log filename.
Use MAKE_EDI post contest to output an EDI file for each band. You can either write one file at a time or write several at once. Select 144R1_03.log, 432R1_03.log, etc from the files list-box. Use the <Ctrl> key and the mouse to multi-select several files. When you write the files, a different filename is used for each EDI file - urCall1.log, urCall2.log etc. Rename these files as necessary before E-mailing them to the contest sponsor.
Station information can be saved for each band. Use the `Bands` pull-down combo box to edit. Use the up/down arrows to view. The DXCC prefix data file [ dxcc_pre.dat ] is required to count the DXCC countries worked, even though not used as multipliers in the R1 VHF contests.
As with other file write functions, copy NOTEPAD to the logging folder to have GenLog automatically open the file after writing it.
