License instruction classes:
We teach several classes on Amateur Radio each year. Some will be more leisurely paced, with lots of time for questions and answers. We will be getting into
the scientific 'meat' of just how radios work, and we will explore the foundations and facts that govern our hobby. These classes will also cover the length and
breadth of Amateur Radio, and are, with the exception of study materials, available at no cost to you. So if you don't have a license, are seeking to upgrade
your existing ticket, or simply want to refresh and extend your knowledge of our Hobby, feel free to join us. Locations, dates and times will be posted on the
We will also be teaching HamCram courses for our emergency preparedness personel and first responders. These classes are generally short, usually 15 hours of
classroom instruction, and very intense. These classes are offered on an as needed basis, and the dates and times will also be published on the W5YL web site.
