Hi Folks:

A few more comments on the W-element model:

We have done some correlation with measurements using different dielectric
constant materials with up to an order of magnitude change in loss tangent.
Unfortunately, in all cases, the maximum loss was only about 25% of the
signal amplitude and we found that the W-element model (HSPICE version
2000.02) agreed well with the measurements when the real board stack up and
geometry was taken into account. The differences with the other simulation
approaches occur primarily with very lossy cases (>50% loss) where we
haven't been able to get verification with actual measurements. My question
is related to these cases where margins are small and accuracy becomes more
important.

Thanks,
