WF5E QSL SERVICE

The WF5E DX QSL SERVICE is a forwarding service to obtain your QSL's. It saves the hassle of you keeping multiple QSL information, finding out who to QSL to, and sending out your own SASE's.

The QSL service has been in operation almost 37 years. Started by W3KT, N7RO, then WF5E in 1994. We serve approximately 5000 customers in every state and over 50 countries. We receive 8000 to 9000 qsls per month to forward. We forward your QSLs to DX and USA managers, and active DX stations, and Dxpeditions, which consist of over 4000 stations. We do not send stateside to stateside QSL's.

About our service

If the manager is in the USA and is the manager for a DX station or DXpedition we will send to them ok. We also send to all USA and Foreign QSL Bureaus. We send all received QSL's to your QSL bureau. So you must have envelopes on file with your respective QSL Bureau. We highly recommend SASE's by foreign customers (if they request direct returns,) as long as extra postage, funds, and envelopes, and or stick on labels are included. It is not necessary for USA stations as we send to all the USA bureaus and our SASE customers about every 6 weeks. We send all the other QSLs requests received to Foreign Bureaus as time permits.

The time required to receive replies back depends on when a DX station or Manager receives the QSL and how often he or she sends out the cards. Normal turn around can be from 3 to 18 months. We do include green stamps, IRC's, or return postage to all stations we send direct to, except QSL Bureaus.

We also have a US Postage Permit to use IBRS "International Business Reply Envelopes" These work like IRCs although they are a number 9 envelope that will hold up to 16 qsls. When all the DX station has to do is fill out the qsls and drop the envelope into the mail. Return postage is paid by us when, and only when, the envelope is received. This is supposed to work in all countries. We have found it works in the major countries, although not all countries.

We also have a meter machine for the postage required to send out requests. If the active station or manager has approximately 5 QSL's or more we will send those direct, if a good address is known, otherwise we send to his QSL bureau. With the new USA international postage increases we will now use the following options to obtain your QSLs: .0 oz to 1 lb will be sent airmail, as there is no longer printed matter surface rates for this weight range. 1lb to 5 lb will be sent economy rate, 5 lbs and up will be sent via "M" Bags as that method is cheaper than economy parcel post which starts at 5 lbs.

We subscribe to 3 DX publications and the go-list. We have our own QSL master database and add to that list daily with new qsl information off the Internet and other publications and reflectors.

New rates effective May 14th, 2007 due to Massive U.S International Mail rate increases. No more surface or economy rates available any more.

1. Sort your cards alphabetical in order of prefix, and by call sign order, and by manager if known. We keep bins on file for direct requests by manager, and call sign if the station has no manager. If you know the manager put the call on the back of the qsl, we double check and if wrong we fill in the correct manager. We count the total qsl cards, so you can place more than one contact on the same qsl. Please notice that some dxpeditions have different managers for SSB and CW.

2. Please include your e-mail address, if you have one, so we can notify you on any problem qsl's we do not handle, or any qsl's in error. We do return any problem qsl's to you with a note as to the problem to your qsl bureau.

Our service is used by those who would like to have a better return rate than the QSL bureau. For those that are hunting band countries and awards, and would like to have the qsl, although not in a big hurry. Our service is not meant to be fast, as it takes time to process the qsls and to wait till a sufficient amount of qsls are obtained to send to the managers and or active stations. We offer an easy inexpensive way to obtain your QSL's, and don't want to do the qsling chores yourself, and not in a hurry. We hope we can be of service to you. We accept USA checks, cash, or any foreign exchange money of your country, provided its the equal amount of our requirements of 2 QSLs per $1.00.

I was first licensed in 1953 with the call WN9ZTD. Then I obtained W9ZTD while I lived in Indiana. I also held PJØMM, PJ8LB in 1968, and operated VP2EE in 1970. I moved to West Texas in 1980. Dxing, Hunting IOTA islands , are my main concerns. I am currently on top of the honor roll with 374 countries mixed. My IOTA total is over 600. I maintain a DX packet cluster node in Texas that directly links to the Internet. I retired in April, 1999 and do sub-contract work on Avionics installs on small aircrafts in West Texas. I am married with a wonderful wife, Chris; we have 2 sons and 1 daughter, and 5 grandchildren.
