Bienvenidos y gracias por su visita a la página Web de YV5EN.   Mi nombre es Edwin y nací en Caracas, Venezuela, en Noviembre de 1957 y soy radioaficionado desde 1979 con especial dedicación al DX en CW (telegrafía).
( para los no-radioaficionados:   CW = telegrafía/Morse;   DX = lejano o extraño contacto vía radio ).

    Heathkit HW-8 QRP Transceiver

    El antiguo transceiver para CW marca Heathkit, modelo HW-8 (año 1975, Serie N° 10903).   Este equipo es un Transceiver de estado sólido para transmisión QRPp (baja potencia - 3 watts DC, ajustada a 1 watt de salida), que cubre los segmentos para CW de cuatro bandas de aficionados:
  • 80 m (3.5 MHz)
  • 40 m (7.0 MHz)
  •    
  • 20 m (14.0 MHz)
  • 15 m (21.0 MHz) 
  •   Elecraft KX1 QRP Transceiver

    El Elecraft KX1 para CW (S/N 2275). Este equipo es un Transceiver ultra-portable de estado sólido para transmisión QRP (baja potencia - 0.75 a 5 watts Output), full QSK, que cubre los segmentos para CW de dos bandas de aficionados:
  • 40 m (7.0 MHz)
  • 20 m (14.0 MHz)
  • Vibroplex® "Original Standard"

    Cuando opero mis equipos CW-QRP, utilizo el "bug" semi-automático Vibroplex® modelo "Original Standard" (1961).   La llave Vibroplex® fue patentada en Mayo de 1904 en New York por Horace G. Martin y consiste en una llave completamente mecánica que acciona los "puntos" ("dit") en forma automática y las "rayas" ("dahh") en forma manual.

    Outdoor QRP operation


    Main compartment:
    Elecraft KX1 transceiver, 12Vdc 5Ah gel batt, dummy load mini, Vibroplex Original Bug, Mini-Padle Iambic key, external speaker, SWR/wattmeter, some connectors and wires.

    Upper compartment:
    Dipole antenna for 40m, 100 ft coax, earphones, logbook, lantern, World Atlas and Hamradio permissions.
