There are various methods to assess the current HF propagation conditions:

  1. Listen to the HF bands using your own rig, WebSDR or KiwiSDR.
  2. Track the actual band activity using DX clusters and/or
  3. Watch regional MUF maps and charts.
  4. Use tools and applications to estimate the current ionospheric conditions based on data collected from recent solar activity, space weather reports, and remote sensing of the ionosphere and its layers. Examples:

  1. Current Ham Activity
    DXview
  2. Recent HF Bands Conditions
    Animated 3000Km
  3. Predicted HF Bands Conditions
