This publication comes from several perspectives that relate to similar goals.
One idea is to control the flow of current so that it gets where is needs to go without endangering occupants or users. For example, reducing the chances of uncontrolled flashover by controlling it at every available opportunity.
Another idea is to point out some tendencies in behavior by industry professionals that may work against the safety of a facility.
Consumers seek to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the occupants of their facilities.
Industry professionals may wish to bone up on the finer points of electrical construction and some solutions to technical problems in the electrical project.
Another idea is to follow the lead of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 960-6 to promote the protection of appliances in the home.
Promote life safety, fire safety and electrical safety.
Promote longer life for equipment and electrical systems.
Promote enhanced quality of life by preventing annoyances that are really symptoms of electrical problems.
This work is to promote life safety, fire safety, and electrical safety at facilities. It is also intended to challenge industry professionals to provide enhanced services to consumers. Another goal is to control, mitigate, or eliminate annoyances such as interference and unintended operation of equipment.
