Beekman Road
is a road where houses were torn down to make way for a freeway. Well
in advance of a freeway, and in fact, the freeway may not be built for
many years. The freeway will be State Highway 35. Currently it is
called Spur 5 near the University of Houston and includes one overpass
and a very short stretch of service roads. Beekman is not technically
abandoned as you can still drive on it, but it "may as well be
abandoned" because it now leads to nowhere and will be destroyed in the
future. So I took photos while I could.
