Cutten Road

Cutten Road - near Beltway 8 and SH 249:

Cutten Road is a strange case - in this case, the road originally intersected at the point of what is now SH 249 and Beltway 8/Sam Houston Tollway. When the two highways where built, a small section was added to make Cutten turn to connect straight on with SH 249. This left an orphan piece, not really abandoned, but an old section. The section ends in a gas station and if you look close at the sign, they mean business about not cutting through their parking lot for a shortcut. The top photo looks south, the north photo shows where Cutten turns off. If anyone has more information about this abandoned street, please e-mail the webmaster.
