Neurath Plaza

Near downtown is a tiny piece of concrete slab of what once a short street called Neurath Plaza, near Saint Charles and Commerce Streets. You have to go back quite a ways in time to find this street and even then, it's hard to see on an aerial. It was a short street between rows of small houses. It is a very short distance from the abandoned Preston Street underpass which is detailed here. There is nothing left today on Neurath except the little piece of slab and the grass where the road ran. It is now fenced in. Top photo is the right of way of all that's left. Bottom photo shows there was a street there as recent as 1978, but as mentioned, it's hard to see as aerial photography was not all that great back then.
