State Highway 146 between Kemah and Texas City

Actually, there are about four different abandoned road sections between LaPorte and Texas City. This is one of the best and one that I photographed. The others will be future project. This one is case where a larger bridge was built, followed by a second bridge to make a divided highway and the complete removal of the old highway bridge, but not the road leading to it. As with most of these type roads, it is popular for dumping all sorts of junk at the end, unfortunately. But, it's still an interesting segment of old roadway.
