The ARMS Christian Fellowship Group has made some major changes. Mike, K7PTL, and Frank, AGØM have decided to step down as President and Vice President. I, Tom Hauskins, AAØLF, was appointed the new ARMS President effective 1 June 2024.

I was first introduced to ARMS while stationed at Hill AFB, in Ogden, UT as the operator at the Base MARS station, to set up and reactivate it. A visitor entered the station, who asked if he could use one of the radio positions to check into a net during his break time. The Collins KWM-2A was tuned up using the log periodic on 14.307.5 Mhz. When the net control asked for further check-ins, the transmitter fined up with, ”this is WOETA, short time.” From that day on, the radio was warmed up and ready when Chuck Brockmeyer came in for his morning break. I retired after twenty years in the US Air Force as a Special Purpose Vehicle Repairman and retired after twenty-eight years as a Caterpillar, Mitsubishi, Jungheinrich Lift Truck Field Service Technician at Altorfer Lift Truck in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My specialty is electric lift trucks, but also repaired LP, gas and diesel lift trucks. I was Issued the call sign KA6TH, while stationed north of Okinawa, Japan, living and operating from the Island of IE Shima, DA2TD, while stationed at Rhein Main AB, Germany, and GØ/NØDNJ while TDY to Greenham Common, England, performing data collection on Ground Launched Tomahawk Cruise Missiles. My station now includes a Kenwood TS-l30S transceiver, YAESU FT-840 transceiver, MFJ-989 antenna tuner and a Zepp dipole. I am active on DMR TGIF talk group 7399 keeping in contact with other ARMS members. I also enjoy participating in the ARMS Midwest Section Net on Saturday mornings and as a NCS one Saturday a month. I am also the Saturday 1st hour NCS on the 20 meter net. I enjoy contacting DX and special event stations. I have been married to my beautiful bride, Deb, since April 1994. We have five children -- two from my previous marriage: Tyler and Kelly; three from Deb's previous marriage, but adopted by me: Anna, John, and 3acob. Tyler and Kelly live in Tucson, Arizona, Anna lives in Marion, Iowa, Jacob lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and John lives in Iowa City, Iowa.We also have two grandsons: Hudson and Crosby. We are members of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion, Iowa. I am a past church council member. We taught Sunday school together and were group leaders for Wednesday Night Live and Logos. I was also a Confirmation Group leader.

Isaiah 40:31 is my favorite Bible verse:

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.“
