June 2024.
I
was first
introduced to
ARMS while
stationed at
Hill AFB, in Ogden, UT
as the operator
at the
Base MARS
station, to set up
and reactivate it. A visitor entered the
station, who
asked if
he could use one of the radio positions to
check into
a net
during
his
break
time. The
Collins
KWM-2A was
tuned
up
using
the
log
periodic on
14.307.5
Mhz. When
the
net
control asked
for
further
check-ins,
the
transmitter fined
up with,
”this
is
WOETA,
short
time.”
From
that
day
on,
the
radio
was
warmed up
and ready
when Chuck
Brockmeyer came in for his morning
break. I
retired after twenty years in
the US

Isaiah
40:31 is my favorite Bible
verse:

they who wait for
the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall
mount up
with
wings like
eagles; they shall run
and not be
weary; they
shall walk and not faint.“
