David Mehlhoff

This is David Mehlhoff, WW0L, from Fort Pierre, South Dakota. David was first licensed in 1996 as KBØYXZ. He holds a General Class license and joined ARMS around in 2009. He also is a member of PARC, the Pierre Amateur Radio Club.

The WØNWT HF station consists of an Icom IC-718 transceiver driving an Ameritron 811H amplifier. He uses a Dentron GLT1000 antenna tuner and a Behringer C-3 microphone with a MIC800 modeling preamp. For VHF David uses an Icon V8000 two-meter transceiver.

David's interest in Ham Radio came from his days as a TV and radio repairman back in the 60's. Like many, he started with CB radio and short-wave listening and then graduated to Ham Radio. He's always been a "techno junkie" when it comes to electronics. He operates mostly phone and PSK31 for digital and enjoys nets, DXing, building antennas, and trying different microphones and audio enhancements.

Professionally, David is a sales representative for a regional tires and wheels distributor. I is also active in his church as a board member, plays guitar and sings vocals on the church worship team, and is a Bible study group leader.

David and his wife, Carolyn, have two sons, Joshua and Jacob. They pray that their sons, now in their 20's, will one day know the joy of walking with the Lord that they know.

David's favorite Bible verses are Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB): "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."

In closing, David would like to share this with the ARMS membership: "Tell people who do not know Jesus that He is coming soon. Remind those that do know Jesus that they should be telling those who do not know Jesus."
