community members have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities,
learn about radio communication and make radio contacts with other operators
across the country or even globally.
Kids
Day is a perfect way for children and young adults to experience Amateur
Radio in a friendly and approachable environment. It helps foster a sense of
curiosity, technical skills and community involvement, all while promoting
STEM education. Help us spread the word by Clicking here for an Event Poster and sharing it
with your friends, family, school groups and scouting organizations.
The Special certificate below will be awarded to every
operator

For more information contact BARA at [email protected]
The event includes a variety of activities such as:
Making Radio Contacts: Young people can use ham radio
equipment to make contacts with licensed operators. It’s a thrilling
experience for them to connect with others worldwide.
Learning about Radio Equipment: Participants get to explore
the tools used in Amateur Radio, such as transceivers, antennas and
microphones and learn how they work.
Understanding Radio Communication: They can practice operating
radios and understand the concepts of frequency, signals, propagation and
call signs.
Engagement with Mentors: Experienced operators often provide
guidance and mentorship to newcomers, helping them learn the basics of radio
etiquette and operation.
The ARRL Kids Day event is open to everyone, making it a
wonderful way to involve not just families but also community groups, Scouts
