BARA Facts - February 2025
Great
teamwork by Team BARA at Winter Field
Day 2025!!!
Another great BARA event
for us to operate, share, learn, demonstrate, and enjoy being together. We
had over 50 people attending the two days with many helping out, working as
operator/logging teams, and engaging the many families and prospective hams
that attended.
Highlights this year
...
· Our score as W2OW
5I WNY was 10,305!
· 578 QSO's, an
increase over 2024 by 150%
· 109 on CW (2 points
each) and 469 on phone (1 point each)
· 17 operators across
6 bands
· Operated almost 20
of the 30 total event hours
· We achieved many of
the objectives to earn a large multiplier (15 out of 26).
This
year there were some rule and scoring changes, including longer operating
time, which meant more airtime for more people and more fun.

These
results have been submitted to WFDA and are subject to review, revision,
and correction.
Final
deadline for logs is March 1, 2025.
Additional highlights
definitely included the chili, tortellini, pizza, donuts, cookies, and fresh
coffee, and especially the big smiles of the BARA members, as well as of the
visitors, young and not so young, who got on the air and shared the
excitement with us.
Best news is that everyone
had a great time, and nobody got sick or injured
Let's get your feedback
and ideas ready to start planning for our next events!
Thanks all and best 73.
