86 | A breakdown of the process and fees for taking a volunteer exam to obtain an amateur radio license: | ||||

88 | Volunteer Exam Coordinator (VEC) Fee: If you're taking your exam through the Laurel VEC at the Vestal Fire Station or the Kopernik Observatory, there is no fee for the exam session. Other VECs may charge a fee. For example, the ARRL VEC (one of the largest coordinators) charges $15 per exam session. | ||||

91 | You'll need to register for an FCC Registration Number (FRN) through the FCC's CORES system. This number is required for all license applications. | ||||
