He has an FT817 and will use 7080Khz on 40m.
21st February -Tony and 4 others set off on 750 mile walk from Invercargill at 0830 local time (Sunday)

So far, Tony G3RKL from Sheffield, has made 7 long strolls.
Tony walks to work and back every day, which is a 6 mile round trip.
He is off to ZL-land again during
February, March and April 2004, for a ~750 mile walk,
end to end of State Highway 6, South Island, Invercargill to Blenheim, up the
West Coast.
Look out for him on the radio while is he on his next trip.

The 7 strolls completed so far:-
1995 - Lands End to John O'Groats (~650 miles, ~75% of the route).
1996 - Finished off LE to JOG, then
Ireland, Malin Head to Mizen Head (~250 + 400 miles).
1997 - ZL, South Island, Bluff to Picton (~600 miles).
1998 - ZL, North Island, Wellington to Cape Reinga (~700 miles).
1999 - VK, Sidney to Brisbane (~600 miles).
2000 - Nothing!
2001 - ZL, Cape Reinga to Bluff as ZL6RTB (~1300 miles).
2002 - ZL, East Cape to Cape Egmont as ZL6WFE (~450 miles).
Tony's 8th Stroll, February - April 2004, New Zealand
Tony, G3RKL, is once again off on
another one of his "strolls".
This will be his 8th.
The route will be Invercargill to Blenheim New Zealand.
He starts in February 2004, ending in April, a total of ~750 miles,
end to end of State Highway 6, taking him north up the West Coast
of the South Island.
He will be operating on HF, VHF and UHF whilst walking, with the possibility of
using Echolink and IRLP internet linked repeaters and simplex links where
available
to keep in touch with hams back home in the UK.
The following is Tony's schedule for his "stroll", during which he
will be using the special
call sign ZL6SHS.
