LEARNING  OBJECTIVES and NOTES
Implementing the Licence

2f.1 Recall that transmissions from the station must not cause undue interference to other radio users.
It is important when an Amateur transmits not to cause undue interference to other radio users. I.e. other amateur or professionals.

2f.2 Recall that the Licensee must reduce any emissions causing interference, to the satisfaction of a person authorised by Ofcom. Understand that this may include a reduction in transmit power or any other action required to reduce emissions to an acceptable level.
If Ofcom or their representatives become involved you may be told to reduce the power of any transmissions causing interference or to take other action such as fitting appropriate low pass filters. This should reduce emissions to an acceptable level.

2f.3 Recall the Licensee must carry Licensee’s details and revocation
A licensee must carry the Licensee's details and details if the licence has been revoked. This is best achieved by carrying the paper licence and any notice of revocation when operating away from home and having the licence and any notice of revocation  at hand when operating from home.

2g.1 Recall that the Licensee must give immediate notice to Ofcom of any change to the Licensee’s name, Main Station Address or mailing address.
Recall that the licensee must confirm that the details shown on the licence remain valid at least once every five years.
Recall that the licence can be revoked by Ofcom for breaches of licence conditions or for non-confirmation of licence details.
Licence schedule
If you change your name, main station address or mailing address you must inform Ofcom immediately.

At least once every five years a licensee must confirm that details on the licence are correct. This can be done online.

The licence can be revoked by Ofcom for a breach in your licence or if you fail to confirm your licence details every 5 years. There are many ways in which you could breach your licence. That is why you must know and understand the terms of the licence.

Apply the schedule to the Intermediate licence.
A copy of the schedule will be available during the examination.
The schedule is a table showing the bands you can operate on, the power levels and mode that can be used and information about specific restrictions.

You will be provided with a copy of this at the start of the intermediate examination and questions will be based on this schedule.

Here is a copy of the Schedule for Intermediate licence holder.

Answer these questions in order to understand how the Schedule works.

1. The Intermediate Licence usually allows a maximum power of 50W. Which bands or sections of bands do not allow 50W?

2. What is the difference between a primary and Secondary allocation?

3. Which frequencies may be used  by some amateurs, but not those living  within 100Km  of Charing Cross

4. Can satellites be used on frequencies between 50.1 and 50.2 MHz?

5. What is the lowest frequency band on which  an Intermediate Licensee can operate?
