Field Day

Field Day is a nationwide emergency communications preparedness drill held annually on the fourth weekend of June. The main focus of Field Day is emergency communications preparedness. Amateur radio clubs across the country sponsor a field day site which conducts communications under simulated emergency conditions. Amateur operators prove their readiness for a genuine emergency by operating outdoors with temporary antenna and power sources. Most club sites operate for 24 hours. This includes overnight operations.
While emergency communications is the main focus of Field Day, most clubs use this opportunity to inform the public about the many benefits offered by the amateur radio hobby, including public service communications and educational programs.
The public is invited to our Field Day site. Location will be announced shortly.
If you are unable to make it to our site, find a club in your community where you can participate. Get involved and support your local club.
