USB charger for your passenger

First let me say, DON'T DO THIS to the left side door! After I was all done and pround of myself, I realized I goofed. Installed in the left door prevents it from opening more than about 70 degrees due to lack of clearance to the passenger seat heater control knob. I found a replacement door on ebay for under $20 so if I really wanted to, I could replace the door with the original and be done. If you are reading this, you know that those little cubbies aren't usefull for hiding more than gloves and small stuff so that's why I decided to hack away at this effort.

The inline ATC fuse holder was cut off so that the wire could be routed through the base of the cubby. Power comes from an auxillary fuse block that is mounted on the inside front wall of the trunk. Access to the trunk is by way of a 3/4" hole its bottom just behind the front wall. A rubber gromment prevents any damage from rubbing. JB Weld 50139 has a 10 minute set up time and a 15 minute set time and is fully cured in 30 minutes. Just be careful not to get it in the power switch area! The offset hex drill tool was something that I bought years ago and have used it way more than I originally thought I would. The drill bit is a metric step bit from Harbor Freight. The end result is better than I thought it would be, aside from the left side mistake. Now the queen can top off her phone anytime she likes. If the USB charger fails, I can always just pop the replacement door on and call it a learning experience!
