Mike Thompson's Ham Radio, Aquarium, Motorcycle, and Camaro Webpage!
Hello! My name is Mike Thompson, and I have been interested in Ham Radio since I was a boy. However, that is not my only interest. I spend a great deal of time working on my 225g saltwater reef aquarium system, Riding my motorcycle, and working on my 98 Camaro Z/28.
This is the first major redesign in my web page since it's conception nearly 8 years ago. A lot has changed! On June 24th, 2006 I got married to my lovely wife, Rachel. We currently live in a small apartment in Bloomington MN, with our 2 cats, Tux and Squirt.

Like I previously mentioned, I built and maintain a 225 gallon saltwater reef aquarium system in my apartment. It consist of a 125g 6 foot long display tank, a 55g sump/refugium, and in the next room is a 30g with its own 15g sump, all interconnected. It is a mixed reef, that is in the progress of rebuilding itself after a biological crash.
The tank is lit with 3 250w 10k Metal Halide lamps, 2 6' VHO actinic's, and 3 1w moonlights. circulation circulation is provided by a Mag5, Mag7, Mag18, and a MaxiMOD.
The satisfaction of a great price fades far sooner than the bitterness of poor quality - Mike Thompson
On Feb 14th 2006 Rachel and I purchased a 1998 Chevy Camaro Z/28. This was the 2nd Camaro in our family. We previously had a 94 Z/28, that was wrecked in a collision with an older driver in May of 05.
This Camaro is Mainly stock. It has a Cat-back exhaust system, and a handmade intake duct. The audio system, however, is far from stock. I have replaced the factory headunit with a CarPC, a modified computer with a 7" LCD touchscreen in the dash, and a 160gb HDD in the trunk. This CarPC performs all the navigation, MP3, XM, DVD, Video, and Wireless internet systems you would expect from total system integration. Audio is sent to the 2 Rockford amplifiers, and on to the 2 10" DVC subs, 4 way 6.5" rears, and 6.5"/1" component front speakers.
