1929
Receiver
The 1929 receiver.
This is the main station receiver patterned around some 1924/1925
schematics. It is quite stable and sensitive. Radio uses a
pair of 201A's, one for the detector, the other as an audio
amplifier. The output is fed into the 2 tube #227 amp.
A few small mods I've done since the article
on this receiver was published consist of replacing the grid condenser
to a 100pf mica and I also reduced the tuning capacitor capacitor to
restrict the tuning range from 3500 - 3600 KHz. Also, I rewound
the grid coil winding using #20 DCC wire.
