We outdid ourselves this year with 505 unique QSO's (542 counting the duplicate), 437 CW and 68 SSB. I've documented our Field Day weekend in the images below.
Log

Our campsite, and the nearby view of Mt. Hood. We had to hike down the rough end of an old forest road to see it, but oh man what a view! We arrived to the campsite earlier this year so we could get started right away at 1800 UTC when Field Day begins.

Like last year, KC7BEY used his drone to get ropes over the tops of the trees. This year we figured out that we could untangle the wire from the branches with the 40 foot fiberglass pole and a tent peg. Unfortunately, one of the drones was stuck in the top of a tree.

We used this Moxon for 20m. It is a statement of my faith in KC7BEY's construction that I slept beneath it Saturday night! The Moxon clearly had a gain advantage, which we noticed when it was oriented south instead of to the east.

Deep into operating on Saturday afternoon. We found that 20m and 40m operated simulatenously on the doublet and Moxon with no issues using the field day filters.

I used this three-element quad to check into the PNW VHF society's Sunday Morning Net.

Cooking breakfast and cornbread over the campfire using my new dutch oven.

I found snow! I found this up a side road, maybe 30-50 feet higher in elevation from where we camped at 5600ft.

Created 30 June 2023.
