For a vacation at Lake Wallowa I brought along a 40 meter QRP CW station in an ammo box. I even made some contacts!

The antenna is a simple 40m half wave dipole, no balun. I tossed a crescent wrench tied to twine to hoist it about 25' up into the trees. The feedline came through an open window when in use, and when I wanted the window closed I just hung it by a piece of twine outside the window.

I assembled the MFJ Cub kit back in 2008 and have made a handful of contacts with it over the years.
