This little gem can tune around the 88-108 MHz FM and even a ways into channels 4 and 5 of VHF TV, as well as the aircraft band using only one 2N3904 transistor and a lot of audio amplification. My source for the circuit, a YouTube video, indicates this is a regenerative receiver that exploits the parasitic capacitances in the NPN transistor. With my crude understanding of transistors at high frequencies, I agree.
