THESE ARE THE C-CORES I PURCHASED FROM BRIDGEPORT MAGNETICS, PART NO. CD32X64X100. THIS TRANSFORMER WILL BE 2800V @ 1 AMP.
I MADE THIS NEW WINDING JIG FOR ANY 32X64MM C-CORE. THE HANDLE AND END PLATE CAN BE REMOVED TO REMOVE THE BOBBIN.
THIS CHART GIVES THE RATING IN WATTS FOR A GIVEN SQUARE INCH OF THE CENTER OF THE C-CORE AT 12KILOGAUS. THESE C-CORE ARE GOOD TO 15KILOGAUS SO YOU CAN ADD 30% TO THE WATTAGE RATING. I AM NOT AN ENGINEER, THESE CHARTS SHOULD BE USED AS A GUIDE. DO YOUR OWN CALCULATIONS FOR FINAL DESIGN.

THE PRIMARY IS DONE, NOW 1750 TURNS, 20AWG IN 18 LAYERS FOR THE 2800 VOLT SECONDARY.
THE INSULATING MATERIAL IS NMN. I USE 2-2-2, ONE LAYER BREAK DOWN VOLTAGE IS 9KV.
I ORDER THE NMN FROM BAE WIRE & INSULATION
I BOUGHT STAINLESS STEEL TY-RAPS TO HOLD THE C-CORE TOGETHER, THIS DID NOT WORK. I FOUND SOME LARGE HEAVY DUTY HOSE CLAMPS AND THESE WORKED WELL.
THIS IS THE LOAD TEST. LOADED THE TRANSFORMER TO 900MA FOR 10 MINUTE AND THE CORE WAS JUST A LITTLE WARM! WHAT A GREAT C-CORE! THE VOLTAGE ONLY DROPPED 300 VOLTS.
