I HAD THIS OLD POLE TRANSFORMER SITTING IN THE BASEMENT SINCE I DON'T KNOW WHEN. I DECIDED TO USE IT FOR A TEST HIGH VOLTAGE SUPPLY.
I HAD A 240V 10A VARIAC ON THE SHELF AND USED IT SO THE SUPPLY WOULD BE VARIABLE FOR DIFFERENT TUBES. THE CIRCUIT IS A FULL WAVE CENTER TAP WITH 32UF FILTER CAP AND 150K OHMS FOR THE BLEEDER. THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE IS ABOUT 3400VDC.
I TESTED IT ON MY 8877 AMP, WITH 800MA OF CURRENT THE VOLTAGE ONLY DROPS ABOUT 200 VOLTS.
