Possible new amateur radio band allocations on Norway:
------------------------------------------------------
A report of the Norwegian amateur radio club (NRRL) states that they were
successful in persuading the licensing authority to add new bands to the
amateur radio band plan. This includes an allocation of 490-510 kHz on a
secondary basis with a maximum power of 100 watts PEP (only A1A). On the
160m band spectrum 1850-2000 kHz they intend to allow an average power of
10 watts insteadt of 10 watts PEP. The frequencies 5260-5410 kHz will be
opened to all Norwegian HAMs on a secondary basis with a maximum power of
100 watts PEP. The 12m band will be extended by 150 kHz and allocated from
24740-24990 kHz with a maximum power of 1000 watts. There will be added also
some parts between 70-70.5 MHz. The NRRL states that the new amateur radio
law is expected for the spring 2009.
