Special information about DXCC Card Checking in Friedrichshafen, Germany: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again DXCC card checking will be done at HAM RADIO Friedrichshafen. Card checking will occur during Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 26 through 28. Like in previous years they will also check QSL cards for 160m and deleted entities. The card checker will inform you about the necessary fees. Payments can be done cash (Euro or US Dollar), with cheque or credit card. Changes in the 40m bandplan --------------------------- The extension of the 40m band up to 7200 kHz was reason for the last IARU Region 1 Conference to change the band plan as well. The upper limit for the exclusive CW portion was raised from 7035 to 7040 kHz. Momentarily there are still many activities below 7040 kHz (e.g. PSK31) according to the old band plan. The whole portion between 7040 and 7050 kHz is reserved for narrow- band digital modes with signals with a bandwidth up to 500 Hz but NOT for SSB contacts. The range from 7050 to 7060 kHz is designated to support all digital modes with a bandwidth up to 2700 Hz. All SSB operations shall be relocated to 7060 kHz and up (especially with more digital activities). A similar situation can be found on other bands as well, like on 80m above 3600 kHz.
