E5 - NORTH COOK ISLANDS, OC-013 / E5 - NORTH COOK ISLANDS, OC-014
Dick,AD7AF, became active from Rarotonga (OC-013, South Cook Islands)
on schedule.He even made some QSOs with Southern Europe on 80m already.
He has good openings to Europe on 30m from 0515-0600 UTC and on 40m
from 0530-0700 UTC. He hopes this will be the same from Manihiki in the
North Cook Islands where he will stay from Feb 3-15. His callsign from
Manihiki (OC-014) will be E51WWB. QSL cards via AD7AF or via LoTW.
E7 - BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA
Mario,DJ2MX, will stay in Bosnia from Jan 29 until Feb 1 and intends to
join the team of E7DX in the CQWW 160m CW Contest. He will be active as
E73DX in CW and SSB on 160m-10m before and after the contest.

EA8 - CANARY ISLANDS, AF-004
Klaus,EA8/DK1AX, will be active holiday style from Teneriffa (AF-004)
from Feb 2-14. He plans to work only in CW on 15m, 20m, 30m and 40m
using a K1 radio with 5 watts and a Kelemen dipole. He will call on
the usual QRP frequencies (+/- QRM). Spots are welcome!

FO/A - AUSTRAL ISLANDS, OC-114
DL1AWI, DL3APO And DL5XU lost some baggage on their way to Raivavae
including one amplifier, a mast and all antennas. So they showed up
with weaker signals during the first days until their baggage was
delivered. The team got a special callsign with TX3D which was spotted
on Jan 23 first. QSLs for FO/DL3APO via homecall, TX3D via DL1AWI.

J5 - GUINEA-BISSAU / 6W - SENEGAL
OM Laci,HA0NAR, wants to activate Guinea-Bissau as J5NAR between Jan 27
and Feb 10. His next stop will be Senegal from where he will show up as
6W/HA0NAR from Feb 11-21. He also plans to activate the IOTA groups
AF-078 (Senegal South Group) and AF-093 (Guinea-Bissau Coastal Region
Group).
J6 - ST LUCIA, NA-108
Budd,J6/W3FF, Chris,J6/W6HFP, Scott,J6/NE1RD, Dan,J6/WZ1P, Guy,J6/N7UN,
Steve,J6/WG0AT, Mike,J6/KC4VG, Paul,J6/KB9AVO, and Wey,J6/K8EAB, are
all members of the DX association "Buddies in the Caribbean" which
specialized in "ultralite" DXpeditions with 100 watts or less power.
The team is going to become active from St. Lucia from Feb 2-11. They
will use three radios powered from batteries and Buddipole portable
antennas. Activities will take place in SSB, CW and digital modes
mostly on 160m-15m and if conditions allow also on 10m and 6m.

VP8/ANT - ANTARCTICA, AN-016
Karel,OR4TN (ON5TN), is staying on the "Princess Elisabeth Station"
longer than planned. Karel will not leave by the end of January but
decided to stay there until Feb 25. QSL via ON5TN.

VP8/SS - SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS, AN-010
XR9JA will be the callsign of Luis,XQ5CIE, Carlos,CE6UFF, Didier,F6DXE,
and Dagoberto,CE5COX, from Feb 1-28. This operation was originally
planned for January but has been re-scheduled. Their QTH will be the
Chilean naval base "Arturo Prat" on Greenwich Island belonging to the
South Shetland archipelago (AN-010). Amateur radio operation is planned
in CW, SSB, PSK-31 on 160m-6m and via the satellite AO-51.

VP9 - BERMUDA ISLANDS, NA-005
Seppo,VP9/OH1VR, will be active mostly in CW from Jan 28 until Feb 2.

VU - INDIA
Norbert,DJ9RB, is hitting the airwaves as VU2RBQ mostly in CW on 160m,
40m, 30m, 20m, 17m and 15m until Feb 2. He also plans to join the
upcoming CQ 160m Contest. QSL via his homecall.
5H - TANZANIA
Igor,UA3DJY, is back again in Dar-es-Salaam and working on all bands
from the clubstation 5I3A until Mar 1. He has been spotted in CW on
40m, 20m and 15m and in SSB on 17m and 15m during the last weekend.
QSL via RK3AOL.
Bert,CX3AN, and Paul,5H3PF, will visit him during the first two weeks
of February and will be QRV mainly in SSB.
7Q - MALAWI
Harry,7Q7HB (G0JMU), has returned to Malawi and will be active from
there for the next three months. Harry prefers CW and digital modes.
As usual QSLs only direct via his QSL manager G0IAS.
GERMANY, SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
Essen is the European Capital of Culture 2010 and therefore the three
special event stations DR2010L, DR2010O and DR2010N will be active
throughout the year. More information about these activities and the

ROMANIA, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
YR5EPC is another new special event station of the European PSK Club
(http://eu.srars.org) from Transylvania. YR5EPC is working in PSK on
all bands until the end of the year. QSOs are also valid for the
ECSA awards. The QSL manager is YO6AJI.
THE NETHERLANDS, SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
The special call PA30EPC is active in PSK until Jan 30. QSL via PA4JB.

The VERON Rotterdam is existing for 65 years now. PI65RTD and 17 more
special calls (PA65, PD65 and PH65) are celebrating the event until
Apr 30. A special award is available as well.

DX Magazine Most Wanted 2009

The DX Magazine is considered the originator of the Most Wanted DXCC Lists.

Contest University during the HAMRADIO 2010?

The DARC committee for DX and HF Contesting in co-operation with the BCC and
the RRDXA are considering to organize a so-called Contest University during
the HAMRADIO 2010 in Friedrichshafen. We are interested to know the opinion
of all contesters who plan to attend this fair in 2010. Participation in the

GACW makes Fabian Kurz, DJ1YFK, DX Contester of the year 2009

The CW Group of Argentina (GACW) gives a Certificate of Excellence to
Fabian Kurz, DJ1YFK. DJ1YFK was very grateful for this award and wants to
coninue his amateur radio career. OM Fabian was born in 1983 and received
his first amateur radio licence as DG9YFK in 1997 at the age of 14 years.
Later he upgraded his licence and received the callsign DJ1YFK. His first
CW QSOs took place in March 1998.
