If all goes well, expect them to work in CW, SSB and RTTY on the usual DX frequencies on 160m-6m. RTTY operation take place using the call C21YL. Their station includes: K3, amplifier with 800 watts, a wirebeam in 15m height, 20.5m vertical for 80m/160m, a 2 ele vertical dipole for 30m/40m, switchable LP/SP. Due to the severe QRN they are trying to build a beverage towards EU in order to work effectively also on the lowbands. QSLs also via bureau to their homecalls. FO - FRENCH POLYNESIA, OC-046 TX4T is the callsign of Jacques,F6BEE, Phil,FO8RZ, Nigel,G3TXF, and Gilles,VE2TZT. They will activate Tahiti (OC-046) on 160m-10m with focus on 80m/160m from Feb 9-24. They want to take part also in the CQ WPX RTTY Contest (Feb 13/14) and the ARRL DX CW Contest (Feb 20/21). QSL cards also via bureau to G3TXF. He will be accompanied by Hans-Peter,DG1FK (H40FK), and Bernhard,DL2GAC (H40MS), who is staying in the Solomon Islands since Jan 21 and will be QRV again as H44MS after Temotu until Apr 19. The trio will show up from Ngarando Reef (Swallow Island, OC-065) from Feb 6-19. H40MS will be active in SSB, H40FN in CW and H40FK in digital modes. Their antenna is a multiband 2 ele vertical "LOBSTER" for 160m-6m. The antenna was described in the German magazine CQDL 12/2009. QSL cards for H40MS and H40FK should be sent via their homecalls. The special call remembers the birth of the US Islands Award Program 16 years ago. Preferred QRGs are 14260 and 28460 kHz. Claire and John are going to use a TS-50 and a vertical antenna. A QSL route will be published later. PJ2 - NETHERLAND ANTILLES - CURACAO, SA-006 Goose,PJ2/W8AV, will be on Curacao (SA-006/LH-0942) from Feb 9-22. He will work from the Signal Point Station (PJ2T) in CW and RTTY on 160m-10m. Goose is also one of the OPs who will be active as PJ2T in the upcoming ARRL International CW Contest (Feb 20/21) and maybe he will also join the WPX RTTY Contest on Feb 13/14. V3 - BELIZE Robert,N7MSU, will stay in Belize from Feb 4-24. He will work in CW/SSB mainly on 40m and 20m signing V31SU from different QTHs. QSLs should be sent direct or via bureau to his homecall. V8 - BRUNEI, OC-088 From Feb 5-8 Kanzi,JA4ENL, will be active from the rental QTH of V85SS (Tungku Lodge, http://www.tungkulodge.blogspot.com). He will work as V85NL on several bands, including 160m. XU - CAMBODIA John,9M6XRO, will be QRV as XU7XRO in CW/RTTY/SSB on 160m-10m from Feb 3-9. He has an HF beam on a 22m mast and Inverted Vees on the same tower for the lowbands. QSLs via M0URX. VP8/A, VP8/G, VP8/H, VP8/O - ANTARCTICA TOUR Thair,W2APF, traveling aboard the ship National Geographic Explorer is visiting the Antarctic region from Feb 8 until Mar 5. He will sign W2APF/C6A/mm from onboard the ship and W2APF/KC4 from the Antarctic mainland. He plans shore excursions on the Falklands, South Orkneys, South Shetlands and South Georgia Islands and will use the call VP8DML from there. An exact timetable is not known in advance.
