DARC DX and HF Contesting Committee and eQSL.cc start a new partnership
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The DX and HF Contesting Committee of the DARC and the operators of the
Electronic QSL Card Centre (www.eQSL.cc) agreed upon setting up a develop-
ment partnership. The goal is to create an electronic server-to-server
transmission system for submission of electronic QSLs (eQSLs) to the online
DARC Contest Logbook (DCL). eQSL is the leading electronic QSL card system
with over 150.000 users who have uploaded over 150 million QSLs. Users can
upload their logs in ADIF format, where they will be cross checked with
other logs. Soon eQSL users will be able to transmit their eQSLs
electronically into the DCL for application of various DARC awards. In this
way, the DARC hopes to expand its user base of the DCL, even amongst amateur
radio operators who does not belong to the group fo active contesters.

No licence for YT1AD in Yemen
-----------------------------
Hrane,YT1AD, was in Yemen recently and visited the Ministry for telecommu-
nication. While speaking to the director of frequency and regulations Hrane
learned that no valid license has been issued by the Yemen Government and
Ministry for telecommunication during the last 20 years. Even King Hussein
from Jordan visited Yemen but was denied a licence for security reasons!
However following DXpeditions were approved for DXCC credit:
7O1AA by 9K2DR and 9K2EC May/June 1990,
7O8AA by F2VX and F6EXV July/August 1990,
7O1YGF by DLs in April 2000 and
7O/OH2YY in May 2002.

TF HAMs get permission to work on 160m event outside of contests:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The national association of Icelandic Radio Amateurs (IRA) received a
favorable response from the Post and Telecom Administration in Iceland (PTA)
on Jan 25,2010, for granting access for Icelandic radio amateurs to the
frequency span of 1850-1900 kHz in international contests during the year
of 2010. The permit from the Icelandic PTA for the current calendar year for
1810-1850 kHz came with a permit for maximum of allowed output power of 10w.
The Icelandic HAMS are now allowed to join other major contests like the
ARRL International DX Contest, CQWW DX Contest, CQ WPX Contest or the
IARU HF Worldchampionship.
