DARC Contest Logbook (DCL) connected with eQSL service ------------------------------------------------------ All QSOs of the electronic QSL bureau www.eQSL.cc can be transferred to the DARC Contest Logbook (DCL). The transferred confirmations count as proven DCL QSLs but the final decision is still made by the awards manager. The linking between eQSL and DCL was possible thanks to the straightforward support of the eQSL operator Dave Morris,N5UP, who tested and finalized the system in unexpectedly short time. Every bronze member of eQSL may use his electronic eQSL cards for the DARC awards supported by the DCL. The DCL was originally designed to support active contesters. With a new feature added in January this year supporting the manual upload of QSL card information through an ADIF interface the DCL is now open to all award collectors. ADIF stands for Amateur Data Interchange Format and can be generated by almost all logging programs. Iceland gains access to 500kHz and 70MHz amateur bands ------------------------------------------------------ On Feb 19 the Post and Telecom Administration in Iceland granted a temporary experimental access to the 4m meter band between 70 and 70.2 MHz. The permit is valid until Dec 31, 2010. Access is granted on a secondary basis with a maximum bandwidth of 16 kHz and a power limit of 100 watts. Icelandic N and G licensees will need to apply for a special licence. At the same time, they were also granted temporary experimental access to the 600m band between 493 and 510 kHz CW only. Again access is on a secondary basis and the power limit is 100 watts. 60m operation allowed in Gibraltar ---------------------------------- Erine,ZB2FK, stated that the 60m band has been released in Gibraltar now. Unfortunately there is no radio amateur who has the right equipment yet. So let's wait for somebody who makes the first QSOs on this band from ZB2. Many thanks for contributing to this issue of the DXNL are going to: Carl Smith (QRZ DX), 425DXNews, OPDX Bulletin, DF6EX (WINQSL), DJ5AV, DK8JB, DL1SBF, DL3IE, DL7VOA, DL8LAS, DL8WX, DM3VL, DO3ME, DO8LA, F5NQL, G3LZQ, NG3K, W9DX, SWL Norbert Maibaum and others. ____________________________________________________________________________ The German PDF version can be found on the DARC homepage at: http://www.darc.de/referate/dx/bulls/dxmb/2010
