CT3 - MADEIRA, AF-014
Diethelm,CT3/DJ2YE, Norbert,CT3/DJ7JC, Kai,CT3/DL3HAH, Joerg,DL3QQ,
Ulrich,CT3/DJ9IE, Dieter,CT3/DJ8DS, Detlef,CT3/DK3QZ, Hans,CT3/DL1XW,
and Wil,CT3/PA0BWL, will be QRV from Madeira (AF-014) from May 25-28.
They will join the CQWW WPX CW Contest on May 29/30 signing CQ3L in a
multi OP category. DJ6QT handles the QSLs for CQ3L, all other QSL cards
should be sent via bureau to the appropriate homecalls.
IS0 - SARDINIA, EU-041
The special callsign IR0LVC will be activated with four stations in all
modes on all bands from Maddalena Island (EU-041) during the upcoming
Louis Vuitton Trophy between May 22 and Jun 6.

JT - MONGOLIA
Vasiliy,RW9YW, will show up as JT9YW from May 25 until Jun 2.

PJ4 - NETHERLAND ANTILLES, BONAIRE, SA-006
John,PJ4/K4BAI, is going to hit the airwaves from Bonaire (SA-006)
from May 25-31. He will sign PJ4A during the WPX CW Contest.

VK9/LH - LORD HOWE ISLAND, OC-004
Tomas,VK2CCC (LY1F), will be QRV as VK9LL from Lord Howe (OC-004) from
May 24-31. Besides of his participation in the WPX CW Contest he will

After signing 3C9B Elmo,EA5BYP, and Javier,EA5KM, will continue their
activity as 3C0C from Annobon (AF-039) in CW/SSB/RTTY on 160m-10m from
May 20 until Jun 2. They want to work with two stations at the same
time as often as they can. Their online logbook will be made available

8Q - MALEDIVES, AS-013
Thomas,OE2ATN, plans an activity as 8Q7AT from Velidhu Island (AS-013)
between May 23 and Jun 4. Using his FT-897D and a G5RV antenna he will
work mainly in SSB on 80m, 40m and 20m. QSLs via his homecall.
ARGENTINA, SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
The "Radio Club Ushuaia" (LU8XW) is planning an activity from the city
Tolhuin (SA-008, WAP WACA Ref ARG-23) to celebrate its 25th anniversary
Operation will take place in SSB, CW, PSK, RTTY and via satellites from
May 22, 0100 UTC, until May 24, 0300 UTC. QSLs via WD9EWK or LoTW.
All QSOs count for the "Radio Club Ushuaia Permanent Diploma". Further

CHILE, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
The special callsign 3G3ITU is activated to mark the 75th anniversary
of the ITU until May 31. QSL via CE3AA.
ITALY, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
Giuseppe Garibaldi defeated General Landi fighting for the House of
Bourbon at Calatafimi-Segesta (near Trapani) on May 15, 1860. He orga-
nized the so-called "Expedition of the Thousand" which was an important
step in the creation of a newly unified Kingdom of Italy.
Members of the ARI Marsala are using the callsign IR9ITALY until Jun 30
to remember this historic Italian moment. QSL via IT9FXY.
PORTUGAL, SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
The special callsign CS2BV will be activated by several members of the
club "Radioamadores do Entroncamento" in CW/SSB/digital modes on all HF
bands on May 22/23. The QSOs from Belver castle (WCA CT-0053, DMP 1209,
DCFP C-053, DMHP PG-018) count for the Portuguese castles award!
SOUTH AFRICA, SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS
The South African Radio League (SARL) celebrates its 85th birthday with
ZS85SARL operated on 80/40/20m from the Ysterplaat Air Force Base (near
Cape Town) on May 22, 0600-1800 UTC.

Visitors of the 2010 FIFA World Cup who are holding an amateur radio
license may use the special prefix ZS10/ in front of their homecall
during the months of June and July.

SILENT KEYS: Khos,JT1CD, informed the DX community that wellknown the DXer
Surenjav,JT1BH, passed away on May 12, aged 58. Other HAMs who have
left the community are Donald Moses (W6UY), Paul "Tom" Varney (K8PV),
Glenn Gilley (KD5EZM), Richard Sanner (W9NG), Joseph Rozploch (ZS2JSR).
Norbert Taferner (ZS6ANL) and Anton Matthee (ZS6A) lost their lives in
the horrible airplane crash of Afriqiyah Airways in Tripolis on May 12.

EU-125, OZ, Romo: A group of German radio scouts is going to activate the
Danish island Romo (DIA NS-001) signing OZ1RDP from May 21-25. Eight to
ten HAMs will use several radios mainly in SSB and PSK31 (some CW) on
20m, 40m and 80m, but also on 30m/17m/15m/10m/6m/2m.
