FRANCE, SPECIAL EVENT STATION During June and July 1944 the BBC war correspondents set up a studio in the tower of Creully Castle to record and broadcast their coverages to England. The first HAM who contacts him on all islands is awarded the "Orkney Crystal Glass Trophy". More information can be found online at: http://www.gdram.com Kids Day on June 19 ------------------- The next Kids Day takes place on June 19. During this event organized by the American Boring Amateur Radio Club kids are working on the bands under supervision of another HAM. Preferred frequencies are 3.685, 7.085, 14.270-14.300, 21.380-21.400, 28.350-28.400 MHz and local 2m repeaters. DRCG continues RTTY Contest with a new name ------------------------------------------- The DL-DX RTTY Contest Group (DRCG) decided to continue the former ANARTS RTTY Contest with some rule changes and a new name. It's new name is DRCG Long Distance Contest (short: DLDC). The points table of the ANARTS and the multiplier rules still apply, VK bonus points have been cancelled and the contest is split up into three parts of 8 hours each to be held on the second full weekend of June. In 2010 these three parts will be on Jun 12, 0800-1559 UTC, on Jun 13 from 0000-0759 UTC and from 1600-2359 UTC. A new six hour category for single operators is added as well. Existing contest modules of the former contest may still be used.
