WFF ACTIVITIES: Fred,IK7JWX, announces operations as IR7WFF from several
national parks in the provinces Lecce (LE), Brindisi (BR), Taranto (TA)

are counting for the "World Flora Fauna" award. QSLs via IK7JWX.

digital modes but also in SSB. QSL via PA0FAW, bureau, direct or eQSL.

DXCC: In our next issue we will inform you about several upcoming activities
from the Netherland Antilles. Many DXpeditions are at the ready to
activate future DXCC entities. The islands will be granted a new
autonomy status and thus the Netherland Antilles as we know them will
cease to exist on Oct 10, 2010. St Maarten and Curacao will become
separate countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, while Saba,
Bonaire and St Eustatius will become special Dutch municipalities.
The only thing we know for sure ist that the two entities PJ2/4/9 and
PJ5-8 will be deleted from the DXCC entity list on Oct 10, 0400 UTC
(which is 1200am local time on the Antilles). The ARRL Awards Committee
has to determine whether rule 1 (political entity) or rule 2 (geogra-
phical separation) apply to the new entities.
St. Maarten and Curacao most likely become a new DXCC entity because
they will get the same autonomy like Aruba got 30 almost years ago.
Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire will become special political entities
which are situated far enough from the mother country to count as
separate DXCCs. We will see if the distance between St. Eustatius
respectively Saba and Bonaire is big enough for Bonaire to count as
a separate DXCC as well. Most people assume this is more than 800 km.
The DXCC desk will not accept confirmations for the new entities until
after Jan 1, 2011. At least then we will know how many DXCC entities
are formed by Curacao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius.
However, until then: "Work first, worry later" (WFWL).
        ---
QSL cards of A52J (Bhutan, 2010), ZD9HGW (Tristan da Cunha, 1999) and
ZL7/N7OU (Chatham Island, 2009) are accepted for DXCC credit now.
